Julia and Regina Childers

The young mistress Julia is wearing a charming Renaissance kid's costume made by her mother Regina. I think she looks absolutely adorable in this outfit, especially with that cute little straw hat, and Regina has also added some nice detail work such as blackwork embroidery on the chemise. You can read a short description of Julia's garb below the picture, and you can email Regina at regina(at)geckoco.com if you have any comments or questions.

Julia

The bodice is boned with cable ties and laces up the back. Her underskirt is a pale gray cotton and the split skirt is a deep navy. The bodice is a natural rust color. The shirt is white cotton with lace at the neck and sleeves. The neckline is open, with Celtic dogs in blackwork around the opening. The straw hat was something I picked up at Hobby Lobby, meant for home decoration, but that happened to fit perfectly on Julia's head. After this photo was taken I embellished the skirt with some simple couch work down the split and around the bottom.
