Leisa Henry

Leisa's elegant late 16th century Venetian gown is based on a figure in the Veronese painting, The Family of Darius Before Alexander. I think this is such a beautiful style of gown, and it's really fun to see a slightly different version of Venetian fashions. You can see a back-view of her dress here, and you can also read some more fun details about the outfit below the picture. If you would like to contact Leisa, you can reach her at lyonhrrt(at)yahoo.com.

Leisa

Leisa's dress is 100% silk brocade. Interesting construction details include the fact that there is no shoulder seam in the shoulders of the bodice. The back and high collar are cut and patterned in one piece along with the shoulders and they attach at the side-front points of the low neckline. There is a corset and chemise, although the chemise doesn't show. The skirt is roll-pleated to the bodice. The sleeves are interlined to fit her arm and the space between the lining and the brocade is stuffed. And finally, since everything went together so smoothly, it only took her two weeks to make this gown!
