Aliannsa O'Rioghbhardain, OP and HL Rhys MacArthurThis finely-dressed couple (a.k.a. Deborah Reardon-Maynard and Craig Maynard) are wearing lovely costumes made by Mistress Aliannsa. As you can read in the description below the picture, she has taken a very creative approach and has found inspiration for her design in a number of sources. You can see one more beautiful picture of Aliannsa here and you can email her at debs_aliannsa(at)yahoo(dot)com if you have and comments or questions.
This gown is a conglomeration of styles. I have seen
several similar dresses on ladies in our kingdom and started planning my own.
The initial inspiration was an Italian sketch. The frog closures were chosen after the portrait of
Elizabeth I known as the "Polish Gown"
The gold underskirt is a complete skirt so it can be used with multiple outfits. Underneath is an
Elizabethan corset and farthingale. The white sleeves belong to a knee-length chemise with box pleated
collar and cuffs.
Rhys is wearing a black velveteen Italian doublet and Dutch slops. There is also a matching capelet with
silver trim.
