Emily KnappA friend of mine recently told me about a new website called The Tudor Costume Page, and I was absolutely thrilled to find such a wonderful new resource for making English lower-class clothing. Emily is a Kentwell reenactor, and her diary and articles were created to help new participants (some of whom have never sewn before) create their first costume while meeting the impressive authenticity standards of their organization. You can learn how to make an gown like the one Emily is wearing by reading her diary, and you can see more gorgeous pictures on this page. I am so impressed with how real these pictures look. This is undoubtedly one of the best working-class costumes that I have ever seen - I don't know why anybody would want to be a noble when working in the kitchen can look this good!
