Ninya MikhailaI am so thrilled and honored to showcase the work of this brilliant professional costumer, who I must confess, is a real hero of mine. I've seen so many beautiful costumes over the past few years, but Ninya's gorgeous creations make me absolutely weak in the knees! Her costumes can be found at a number of historical sites across the UK, and this amazing recreation of a 1590's Marcus Gheeraerts portrait was created for an interpreter at Hampton Court Palace. I think it is really inspiring to see such a beautiful late-Elizabethan gown, especially since so few people make this style of clothing, and the amount of detail she put into this outfit is really quite stunning. You can see additional pictures of this gown here, and be sure to check out the other new pictures in her 16th century gallery. Ninya's entire website is one of the best you'll ever find online!
