Sherri Archer

Sherri made this beautiful silk noble gown to wear while attending the Michigan Renaissance Festival. She has a very entertaining dress diary about this project where you can read about her various revisions and revelations while working on the gown. I'm especially impressed with her fabulous embroidered partlet and sleeves, which are so similar to the shirt seen in the Portrait of an Unknown Girl that everybody knows and loves (and if you don't know about it yet, you'll find it in her diary). And as a bonus, Sherri has even included instructions and some nifty diagrams for making a partlet of your very own! It's so great to see diaries that not only show the proccess and finished results, but also teach people along the way.
