Aaron Egan

Aaron is a 18 year-old performer and costumer who made this wonderful outfit with the help of his father, Bob Egan, for his role as John Saffron, the Captain of the Guard at the Michigan Renaissance Festival. His work was nominated by Heather White, who tells us that "the doublet and slops are both made from red and black velveteen. The doublet was made from a modified version of the discontinued Simplicity 5574 pattern, and the sleeves are fully reversible. The slops were made from the Fantasy Fashions Paned Slops and Breeches pattern." You can also see another view of this outfit here. It is always so exciting to meet such talented and creative teenagers, and I hope Aaron's work will inspire other young reenactors to give costuming a try! If you would like to contact Aaron he can be reached at battlemonk(at)earthlink(dot)net.
