Laura's charming 1480's Florentine gown is based on the outfit worn by Ludovica Tournabuoni in Ghirlandaio's Birth of the Virgin. What I really love about this outfit is that she took an older costume that she made from a commercial pattern and reassembled it using more period methods. I think it is great that Laura kept working on her dress and doing the research to make it more authentic, and now the final version captures the look of Renaissance Florence so perfectly! Bravissimo!
