Jena Altstatt

This Elizabethan-style kirtle is Jena's first try at anything remotely historically accurate, and I think that she has done a great job of creating a gown that is as versatile as it is pretty. She mentioned that her Italian-style sleeves were a bit rushed, but she could easily change up the entire look with a different style of sleeves or even by adding a doublet or overgown in the future. Jena used Drea Leed's site to help her draft her own pattern for the dress, she bought a kit from AlterYears for the corset, and the hat was a compilation of a few online patterns plus a bit of "winging it". She also sent a picture where you can see the lovely side-back spiral lacing on the bodice. If you would like to contact Jena, you can find her at tairngire(at)cox(dot)net.
