Belphoebe de Givet

I think women's doublet and skirt combos are some of the most chic outfits for late 16th c. costuming - especially when the doublet has interesting surface embellishments, like this one does. Belphoebe's new website, Une Robe Magnifique, has a gallery page full of amazing pictures of this outfit. I am totally intrigued by her beautiful hand muff, which she describes in an article documenting their history and construction. That may be the first time that I've seen somebody make a muff for a Renaissance costume, but doesn't it make a wonderful accessory? I'm hoping that she starts a trend and we see more people carrying these in the future!
