1480's Florentine GiorneaI finally found some motivation to make a proper giornea
to complete my Florentine ensemble. Although I had originally planned to make a more fitted cioppa to wear with this outfit, I finally decided to take the easy way out and just make the unfitted tabard. This seems to be the most common style shown in Florentine artwork, and I can always cheat and wear a belt with it when I wanted a more fitted look. From left to right, you can see it completely loose, with the front only belted, and then with the whole thing belted. I also have a gallery page for the undergown, and you can read about this whole project in my diary. If you want to see the artwork that inspired the outfit, check out the research
gallery.
